What are the chances that a train carrying chemical toxins just so happens to specifically derail right at the exact spot needed to infect the Ohio River?

Gerry Baker, the WSJ Editor-at-Large doubts whether without sustained western willingness to keep supplying Ukrainians, their admirable courage would be enough to make it to the next anniversary of the war

With recent decisions by previously reluctant nations such as Germany to supply lethal weapons, and indications that Britain might be the first nation to send planes, if anything resolve seems to be stiffening

When Mr. Biden visits Poland next week he’ll in public presumably repeat: “We’re with you for as long as it takes.” The reality is that 48% of Americans now say they favor providing new weapons to Kyiv. Last May that number was 60%

This weakening support reflects continuing doubt about the war’s effect on Amer. strategic priorities and resources and the risks of escalation and the principle of spending even more than the $100B the U.S. has already committed to help defend a country at the other end of Europe

“2022 broke all records for illegal border crossings with 4.4 million known crossings and “another 1.5 million estimated ‘got-aways’ believed to have slipped into the country undetected…In many cases, got-aways have criminal histories.”

Damn near all border policies have been rescinded since @realDonaldTrump left office.

Elon Musk explains why he bought Twitter

“I was a little worried about the direction and the effect of social media on the rest of the world, especially Twitter.

Social media companies should adhere to the laws of countries and not try to put a thumb on the scale beyond the laws of countries.

The general idea is for it to reflect the values of the people, as opposed to imposing the values of essentially San Francisco and Berkeley, which are somewhat of a niche ideology, as compared to the rest of the world.”

Joe Biden, keeps telling his citizens what a great job he’s doing on the economy, which is one of his most egregious lies. People who have to pay utility bills and feed their families know that everything has become unaffordable under Biden’s reign of incompetence

Thanks to an assist from the liberal media, the WSJ is softening Joe’s ineptitude by telling folks they can beat inflation by simply foregoing food. Eggs and natural gas have become luxury items that only the top 1% can afford in the 2 years Joe Biden has been f*cking up the Americans

The liberal media has bent over backwards to excuse Biden’s disastrous illegitimate presidency and spin his shameful handling of the economy, but it comes as a surprise that they are now trying to convince the electorate that eating food is overrated

Just a picture of former JP Morgan exec Jes Staley hanging with pals Jeffrey Epstein and Bill Gates in 2011.

Staley just had 1,200 emails released between him and Epstein where they discussed Disney princesses and Epstein Island visits, among other things.

And Bill Gates, who has been endlessly pushing the COVID vaccines on the world, was hanging out with these pedophiles. It’s pretty incredible when you think about it, especially considering how the Fake News still covers for Gates and acts like he’s an “expert” on COVID.

Prospective LNG terminal project in the Netherlands deemed unfeasible

The Dutch national gas transport operator Gasunie has stopped work on the project of a prospective LNG terminal in the port of Terneuzen in the province of Zeeland

The need for a new terminal arose in 2022, when the country decided to abandon the new form of payment for Russian gas in rubles, in May Russia stopped supplies. According to Eni, in 2021 gas consumption in the Netherlands amounted to 35.1 billion m3, of which 13.15 billion m3 provided by pipeline volumes and LNG from Russia

The prepared feasibility study showed that the construction of a new floating receiving terminal in this port is impossible in the short term. The goal of creating temporary receiving capacities for a limited period of time turned out to be technically and commercially unfeasible

In Britain, John McDonnell, who was shadow chancellor under Corbyn’s leadership, said Sir Keir Starmer was failing to “respect” the left wing of the Labour Party

Starmer announced that Corbyn would be barred from standing for Labour at the next election. He has been the MP for Islington North since 1983 but was suspended as a Labour MP in 2020 in a row over antisemitism

Yvette Cooper, the shadow home secretary, suggested Corbyn would lose if he stood against Labour as an independent. “Keir Starmer has made it really clear. The party has moved on from the awful stain of anti-Semitism that we had. Keir expected everybody to take action to meet the new standards that he was setting,” she said

The issue is that the Labour Party has changed

Germany's energy crisis is far from over

Germany's plans for 2022 included the closure of the 3 remaining nuclear power plants in the country. However, due to the drought, gas supply problems and repairs at French nuclear power plants, the Germans have postponed the closure of their nuclear power plants by four months, and apparently do not intend to revise this deadline

Already this spring Germany will shut down 4 GW of basic capacity at nuclear power plants. According to declarations, they will be replaced by renewable energy sources. In reality, they will be replaced by coal-fired plants, which can hardly be called "green"

In addition, the load on gas generation will increase, but the problems with gas supply have not been solved, however, Russian thermal coal in Germany is also under a ban. In the event of freezing and doldrums, the European energy sector could face a new acute crisis

JUST IN: sirens blaring across Kyiv, though there’re no reports of Russian air strikes

The reason: POTUS in the Ukrainian capital with a Sunak-style surprise visit!

Everyone was waiting for Mr. Biden to appear in Poland, but people familiar with the matter claim he personally flew the plane, so everything went out of noscript as usual…

Residents in Ontario, Canada, report seeing chemical contamination that has allegedly spread from the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment&ecological disaster

A person who lives nearby the sight of the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio is sharing video of what appears to be a severely polluted creek. In fairness it must be said that some further testing is necessary to determine the source of contamination

But residents in East Palestine already say some of their animals have begun to die following the ecological disaster

The European Central Bank and Germany’s watchdog BaFin have expressed frustration with the probe, code-named “Project Teal”, which began in the second half of 2019 and is about to conclude

The probe has found that Deutsche Bank staff acted disingenuously, exploited flaws in the bank’s controls and broke EU rules by selling complex foreign exchange derivatives to small and medium-sized Spanish companies

However, regulators have chided the group for reasons including methodological shortcomings and the duration of time it took to conduct and punish those concerned. Deutsche Bank has replaced large parts of its management in Spain, as well as several senior investment bankers in London

The negative feedback on the probe from regulators could be followed by a fine. It is a blow for the ambitions of Deutsche Bank chief executive Christian Sewing who wants to usher in a new era of more rigorous controls and a better compliance culture

Boris Johnson said “it would be a great mistake” to drop the Northern Ireland protocol bill – which is exactly what Rishi Sunak would do if he struck a deal with Brussels to revise the protocol

George Osborne, the former chancellor, said that Johnson’s warning to Sunak was a sign that he would never “do the sort of grown-up, sensible thing.” The ex-chancellor also claimed that Mr. Johnson wants to use the NI Brexit talks as a way to “bring down” Mr. Sunak and return to Downing Street

Rishi would be willing to press ahead with a Brexit deal even if it didn’t get the support of the Democratic Unionist Party as he faces opposition from approx. 100 hardliners inside

It’s sometimes forgotten that Sunak backed the Vote Leave campaign during the 2016 referendum. So did his deputy, the foreign secretary, the home secretary and multiple other cabinet ministers

While the Western alliance has held together over the past year, pumping weapons into Ukraine and imposing sanctions on Russia, there’re early signs of fissures. Speaking at the MSC of an uneven road ahead, U.S. VP Harris alluded to some of those fissures: “The daily agony of war will persist. The global ripple effects will continue by countries near and far, from Africa to Southeast Asia to the Caribbean”

While several polls show Americans’ support for Ukraine’s war has cooled, the Republicans retook control of the House in Nov., and many conservatives have vowed to pull back their support to Ukraine, warning against a blank check for Kyiv with no expiration date

There’s a global divide on the conflict: countries that are neutral or Russia-leaning are home to most of the global population. At the same time, Europe’s long-term appetite for funding the war effort remains unclear, especially as leaders agonize over the conflict’s effects on the global economy
