Your LinkedIn account has been blocked - what to do?
Olga Bondareva, Founder of ModumUp, noticed several complaints on her Facebook feed in recent days, and has decided to share her insights.
What's important to know here?
Firstly, getting blocked is normal. LinkedIn may be checking if you are a real person. You'll need to send your ID, and they'll unlock your profile. After that, LinkedIn will trust your profile more.
Secondly, to avoid getting blocked, you need to understand what influences the block.
1️⃣ You send too many connection requests and messages per week
What to do: If you have a new account, send a maximum of 50 connection requests per week. If your account is active, LinkedIn may allow you to send between 100 and 200 requests per week, depending on the profile. If you receive a warning, stop sending requests!
Regarding messages, it's recommended not to send more than 30 per week for a new account and not more than 150 per week for an active account.
2️⃣ You do all your activities on the same day
This behavior is considered unnatural for a LinkedIn user, so your profile may get blocked.
What to do: Try to spread your LinkedIn activities across different days.
3️⃣ You open too many profiles of people or visit profiles from external sources
This behavior resembles the work of automated tools (even though real automation tools don't do this anymore).
What to do: Use LinkedIn's internal search or Sales Navigator, and spread your activities across different days to avoid opening too many profiles at once.
4️⃣ You send spam to people, and they complain
What to do: Work on improving your profile and messaging so they don't look suspicious and don't resemble a bot.
Important: There can be many other reasons for being blocked.
What to do if your profile is ALREADY blocked?

🦄 Rubber-duck-unicorn is a symbol of our agency
As ModumUp works closely with tech companies, a rubber duck caught our attention as a cute part of the programming culture.
Have you heard about "rubber duck debugging"? If not, it’s a problem-solving technique where a developer explains their problems and the thought process behind them to an imaginary helper. Traditionally, a rubber duck is chosen for this role. Now a rubber duck has become a symbol for the technique itself.
But why it’s also a unicorn? Well, startups that achieve a valuation of over $1 billion are often referred to as "unicorns" and we love working with these ambitious startups and helping them reach their full potential. And as a company, we share this ambition too!
So, if you see a rubber duck on the cover of our Social Selling conference our page, or on top of our Founder Olga Bondareva head 😀, know that we take our work seriously and are dedicated to helping our clients achieve their goals.

Recently, on October 17th, we hosted an online conference noscriptd "Social Selling Tech: AI, Automation, and the Metaverse" 😊
Our team was preparing for it for 6 months. And we’re so happy that our efforts paid off – we had 3716 registrations from 122 countries.
We’d like to share some insights that were brought up during the conference:
1. If you misuse automation, there is a potential risk of reputational damage or platform sanction. Don’t rush with automation and adhere to platform limits. Genuine engagement should be your priority.
2. Using ChatGPT, businesses can create unique engaging content, detailed content summarization for more insightful resharing and commenting, and personalized networking messages, especially on platforms like LinkedIn.
3. LinkedIn is certainly focusing on AI. Soon, we can expect new LinkedIn features like AI Assisted Search and Account IQ
You can watch the conference recordings here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGc_Ath6mBNmWdBKkH7UDmBZ2YltxoXUK&si=64cIQNiyTCH4CEc6

Let’s be honest: Entering the US market can be a bit tricky and challenging.
It’s highly sought after by many international companies.
And, of course, some of our clients have approached us with the task of Social Selling via LinkedIn in this market. So, we'd like to share the insights we've gained, naturally, through trial and error.
We hope you'll find something useful for yourself! If you do, share it with your colleagues who are also considering entering the US market.
Let's tackle this together! 😉🙏

We had a lot of fun celebrating Halloween with our agency team in the Metaverse! This is our second experience of having a corporate event in this format, and the team really loves it: it turns out to be more interactive than just through video conferencing, and for a fully remote team, this is very important and valuable 😊
Our team members are from different countries, and not everyone knows the history of Halloween, so our wonderful HR team, Valeriia Fomenko and Assylkhan Shaidollayev, organized a very intriguing quiz for the team. We learned about the legend of Stingy Jack and the origins of the tradition of carving faces on pumpkins, about the trick or treat custom, and other symbols of this holiday 🎃
It's really great and fun to gather together like this sometimes!

Perfectionism, impostor syndrome, overestimating the audience - what holds back managing a personal profile on social media
Creating content can sometimes be such a headache, can’t it? 😉 Many people are concerned that they don't have enough experience to give advice to other professionals. It seems as though everyone already knows everything, and that you have nothing new or interesting to add. The idea of getting negative feedback in the comments is scary.
How can we combat this? Let’s explore the most common barriers that make it difficult to manage personal profiles on social media.

Entering New Markets: Stand Out Over Local Competitors
Imagine this scenario: You are an international company entering a new market. You face many large local and international competitors, and currently, you only have a few local clients. You generate leads using Social Selling but struggle to convert them into deals.
What conclusion would you draw? Most likely, Social Selling as a lead generation channel is ineffective for you.
This conclusion, however, is incorrect. Why? The answer in the presentation 🙂

Recently, our ModumUp team, in just three months, aided a startup advisor and ex-FAANG employee in attracting 76 leads.
This effort resulted in closing a deal with a startup valued at $30 million and securing mentoring positions with global accelerators such as Techstars and Acelera. Notably, the consultant's monthly fee covered the three-month Social Selling services provided by ModumUp.
According to the client, "It was important for me during the project that the ModumUp team also played an educational role. They helped me incorporate Social Selling into my routine: posting one or two times a week, promptly responding to comments, and engaging with others' posts. Many people know they should be active on LinkedIn or work on their profile but lack the kind of babysitting support I had 🙂 They need someone to push them. People usually don't understand how Social Selling works, what kind of posts to write, and what else needs to be done to get the algorithms working for them. Essentially, the ModumUp team taught me a lot during the three months we worked together, and I continue to use those lessons."
This testimonial underscores the impact of ModumUp's approach in not only delivering results but also in providing valuable education to clients.
Results after three months of work:
✅ 114 people showed interest in the client's services
✅ 76 leads expressed readiness to work with the client, including a $30 million startup requesting mentoring
✅ The client became a mentor at the Acelera accelerator, where the monthly consultant fee covered our three-month Social Selling work
✅ Became a mentor at the global Techstars accelerator
✅ Received an invitation to participate in a well-known podcast about startups
✅ Received an invitation to host a guest workshop at a European business school

Olga Bondareva, the founder of ModumUp agency, recently addressed a closed event organized by an international club of businesses with a global expansion focus. The event drew a diverse group of service businesses, providing Olga with the opportunity to share her insights.
She highlighted key principles crucial for businesses venturing into new markets:
1️⃣ Get relatable: Narrow down your positioning and use the right terminology that resonates locally
2️⃣ Go local: Have a physical presence and truly understand the local landscape - people should be able to interact with you in person
3️⃣ Build trust: Make it low-risk to start working with you, with minimal losses if it doesn't work out (think flexible contracts they can exit, free trial periods, cheap intro rates, etc.)
4️⃣ Be aspirational: Share your expertise publicly and collaborate with big names even for free exposure. If you share valuable content and seem cutting-edge, people will gravitate toward you
Olga applies these principles in her own approach to entering the US market with her Social Selling and LinkedIn marketing agency.
We wish you great success entering new markets!
